TAMPA – Amalie Arena is set to host the Tampa Bay Business Journal’s Third Annual Business of Sports event on February 9, 2016. The event brings together key contributors in Tampa Bay Sports to observe its impact on Tampa Bay Business.
Not only will guests have the opportunity to get an inside look at the industry with Sports Business Journal Editor-in-Chief Abraham Madkour, they will also experience a series of 1:1 talks with Tampa Bay’s top sports executives. Featured speakers include Brian Auld, president of the Tampa Bay Rays; Brian Ford, COO of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers; Rob Higgins, Executive Director of the Tampa Bay Sports Commission; Bill Abercrombie, Executive Vice President of Partnership & Suites Development for the Tampa Bay Lightning; Bill Edwards, Chairman, CEO & Governor of the Tampa Bay Rowdies; Karri Zaremba, COO/Founder of Venuetize; Scott Blackburn, CEO at Thuzi, and former MLB player Gary Sheffield.
“Tampa Bay has become a center of excellence when it comes to the business of sports and entertainment management and our annual event with many of the region’s top sports executives allows us to share best practices and look at the state of the industry,” said Alexis Muellner, TBBJ editor-in-chief. “Our value proposition at the Business Journal is to offer valuable strategic insight and personal business connections, and this is a fertile opportunity to build important relationships.”
An $80 event ticket includes a terrace level sideline seat at a future Tampa Bay Lightning game, while a $95 event ticket includes a promenade level endzone seat. All Business of Sports tickets include complimentary food and beverages at the event.
The event will kick off at 12:15 p.m. with registration and networking, followed by the featured speaker sessions from 1-5 p.m. The evening will come to a close with cocktails as well as tours of the newly-renovated club and suite levels of Amalie Arena starting at 5 p.m.
