AdventHealth and the Tampa Bay Lightning have announced the 7th Annual Heart Health Awareness Night will be today, February 5, at 7:30 p.m. when the Bolts face off against the Vegas Golden Knights at AMALIE Arena.
AdventHealth is committed to helping the Tampa Bay community live their healthiest life possible and has partnered with the Lightning to bring fans a night of fun to help raise awareness of heart disease during American Heart Month.
Heart disease affects more than 84 million Americans and is the number one killer of men and women each year. During the game, AdventHealth cardiologists will educate and provide tips on keeping your heart healthy, including the four numbers everyone should know. Even ThunderBug will get some expert feedback on keeping his heart in tip top shape for the beloved Bolts.
"AdventHealth has one of the nation's leading cardiovascular programs and the first and only site of national research trials for heart disease at our renowned Pepin Heart Institute right here in Tampa Bay," said Lauren Key, Senior Executive Officer of Consumer Strategy, AdventHealth West Florida Division. "We are excited to partner with the Tampa Bay Lightning to raise awareness about heart health, and help fans feel whole while they cheer on the Bolts!"
As part of the night, AdventHealth and the Lightning will also share the story of a local teenager who went into cardiac arrest at school, and now shares his story of survival to help raise awareness about heart health.
"We are proud to once again be teaming up with our great partners at AdventHealth to educate our fans about the extremely important wellness initiative of heart health," Lightning Chief Executive Officer Steve Griggs said. "Each year AdventHealth continues to present new and engaging ways to provide Lightning fans an excellent informational experience so they can keep pouring their hearts into the game."
Lightning Fans will also have a chance to interact with AdventHealth teams on the concourse and try their hand at "Operation" and other fun games.
All fans will receive a special "I Heart Bolts" T-shirt and will be able to enter to win a free autographed Tampa Bay Lightning jersey.
