SEATTLE - Oct. 30, 2020 - Today, the Seattle Kraken announced the hiring of its Director of Amateur Scouting and 11 scouts who will join the Hockey Operations department as the franchise continues to prepare for its National Hockey League (NHL) debut in the 2021-22 season
The new scouts include:
- Robert Kron, Director of Amateur Scouting
- Jeff Crisp, Amateur Scout
- Mike Dawson, Amateur Scout
- Pelle Eklund, European Scout
- Marcus Fingal, European Scout
- Sasu Hovi, European Scout
- Tony MacDonald, Amateur Scout
- Tom O'Connor, Amateur Scout
- Thomas Plante, Amateur Scout
- Aleksandr Plyushev, European Scount
- Trevor Stienburg, Amateur Scout
- Darren Yopyk, Amateur Scout
Building a Global Scouting Program
This seasoned group of scouts will be led by Robert Kron as the Director of Amateur Scouting. Kron, a former NHLer, joins the Kraken from the Carolina Hurricanes where he served as the Director of European Scouting. He brings over a decade of NHL scouting experience to the Kraken.

The Seattle Kraken will begin their inaugural season in the 2021-22 NHL season at Climate Pledge Arena.
