SEATTLE, Wash. - July 1, 2023 -Today, the Seattle Kraken (@SeattleKraken) announced that they have agreed to terms with forward Marian Studenic (MAIR-ee-uhn stoo-deh-NEECH) to a one-year, two-way contract ($775k AAV).

Studenic tallied a career high 48 points (21 goals, 27 assists) in 67 regular-season games during the 2022-23 season with the Texas Stars, the American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the Dallas Stars. He ranked fourth in points (48) and third in both goals (21) and power-play goals (six) among all Texas skaters. Studenic played in eight playoff games with the Stars, tying for second in points (six, two goals and four assists). Additionally, he appeared in three regular season NHL games with the Dallas Stars.

The 24-year-old has totaled six points (three goals, three assists) in 44 career NHL games with the Stars and New Jersey Devils, playing a career high 33 games with both the Devils and Stars during the 2021-22 season. That same season, he played in four playoff games with the Dallas Stars. The six-foot-one, 190-pound forward has played in 207 games in his AHL career across five seasons (2018-19 to 2022-23) with the Texas Stars, Utica Comets, and Binghamton Devils, totaling 116 points (53 goals, 63 assists).

Prior to making his professional debut, Studenic played two seasons (2016-17 and 2017-18) with the Hamilton Bulldogs of the Ontario Hockey League notching 78 points (38 goals, 40 assists) in 120 games. During those seasons, he played 28 playoff games with the Bulldogs, totaling 19 points (five goals, 14 assists), helping the Bulldogs win the 2018 OHL Championship.

The Skalica, Slovakia, native represented Slovakia during two World Championships (2019 and 2021), two U20 World Junior Championships (2017 and 2018), as well as the 2015-16 Hlinka-Gretzky Cup. Studenic was awarded Slovakia Rookie of the Year during the 2015-16 season with HK 36 Skalica U20 in the Slovakia U20 League.
