Kraken goaltender Chris Driedger cleared waivers Friday after the league's 31 other teams had 24 hours to make a claim.
Driedger, who appeared in 27 games for Seattle last season, was injured while playing for Team Canada in the International Ice Hockey Federation World Championship last spring. He underwent successful knee surgery and has been progressing in the recovery timeline that projected he could be ready to return in February or March. He has traveled and skated with the team on recent road trips.

Driedger was 9-14-1 last season with a 2.96 goals-against average and .899 save percentage. He has played 58 games across seasons with the Kraken and Florida Panthers. His NHL career record is 30-23-5 with a 2.45 goals-against average and .917 save percentage.
The 28-year-old will report to AHL affiliate Coachella Valley.
