The Kraken placed leading scorer Jared McCann on the injured reserve list Thursday morning with an undisclosed upper-body injury. In an accompanying roster move, forward Kole Lind was recalled from AHL Charlotte.

"'Canner' has been a leader on our team throughout the year," Kraken coach Dave Hakstol said after the morning skate. "Hopefully [he will be out] for not too long period of time, but we will definitely be without him tonight."
"That's a big part of our team missing," said forward Ryan Donato, who counts McCann among his "closest guys" on the team. "I will try to do the same things I do. This league is too good to try to do too much [to compensate for McCann's absence] ... we have lots of guys who want to prove they can score."
Hakstol and the Kraken might be missing high-energy forward Yanni Gourde, too. Hakstol said whether Seattle's third-leading scorer suits up or not "will be a game-time decision."
McCann has a career-high 21 goals this season, along with 12 assists in 48 games. He missed five games earlier this season due to the NHL's COVID-19 protocol.
Lind was on a seven-game point streak with four goals and five assists, the longest for a Charlotte player this season.
