Rask's seasons of 33, 48, 45, and 31 points with a career-high 21 goals during the 2015-16 season. In 29 games with Wild this year, the Swedish-born Rask has notched five goals and eight assists.

As the NHL Trade Deadline approached the 12 noon Pacific cutoff time, the Kraken diverted long enough to successfully claim defenseman Daniel Pouliot off waivers from Vegas. The 29-year-old has played in 204 NHL games, including two this past week after signing a contract with Vegas.

Forward Marcus Johansson, a free-agent signing last summer who plays effectively in all zones, has been traded to Washington in exchange for forward Daniel Sprong, along with a 2022 fourth-round pick and a 2023 sixth-round choice.

Sprong, 25, has scored 40 goals and notched 24 assists in 186 games. Born in the Netherlands, his family moved to Canada in 2005 to support his hockey potential. He was drafted in the second round (46th overall) by Pittsburgh in 2015. He has eight goals and six assists this season with the Capitals.
