Ever since he transitioned into the National Hockey League with the Kings, Anze Kopitar
’s foundation, ‘AK11’ (AnzesEleven
) has hosted summer hockey camps for children between the ages of 8 and 14 in the Kranjska Gora region of Slovenia.
In the early years of Anze’s camp, children learned the basic skills of hockey off the ice in-line style. Integrated into the camp at the time, were a long list of activities such as soccer, basketball, beach volleyball, biking, hiking, swimming, and martial arts to improve the physical condition of the campers. More recently, as the popularity of hockey has grown in Slovenia, much ado to the Kopitar family, Anze’s camp has moved to the ice.
