MANCHESTER, NH – Manchester Monarchs forward Lauri Tukonen competed for the bronze medal winning Team Finland in the 2006 International Ice Hockey Federation's World U20 Championship. Tukonen played in all seven games for team Finland and recorded three goals and seven assists for 10 points. The 6-foot-2, 205-pound native of Hyvinkaa, Finland, ranked second in the tournament in overall scoring (10 points), assists (7) and plus-minus with a plus-9.

During the tournament, Tukonen finished the preliminary game versus Norway with a plus-5 rating, one goal and three assists on Friday, December 30. He also fed the game-winning assist to teammate Teemu Laakso in overtime of the quarterfinal game against Sweden on Monday, January 2. In the bronze medal contest on Thursday, January 5 against Team USA, Tukonen scored the game-winning goal in the third period and assisted on the final goal to clinch third place for team Finland.

Tukonen has been named a member of the Media All-Stars team for his performance.
