MANCHESTER, NH – The Manchester Monarchs, the primary affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, signed center Michel Leveille to a one-year contract, Monarchs Director of Hockey Operations Hubie McDonough announced Tuesday. In addition, the Monarchs have signed right wings Jon Rheault and Denny Johnston to professional tryout agreements.

Leveille, 27, played in 41 games with the AHL's Toronto Marlies during the 2007-08 season and collected 12 points (9-3=12) and 14 penalty minutes. The 5-foot-9, 180-pound native of Levis, Quebec, also appeared in four games with the ECHL's Columbia Inferno and recorded five points (1-4=5) and four penalty minutes. Leveille played four seasons at the University of Maine with Monarchs right wing Teddy Purcell. From 2003-07, Leveille collected 148 points (52-96=148) and 210 penalty minutes in 152 games.

Rheault, 22, graduated from Providence College in May following four seasons and 142 games. The 5-foot-11, 200-pound native of Arlington, Texas, registered 56 goals and 49 assists for 105 points and 126 penalty minutes with the Friars. Rheault grew up in Deering, New Hampshire, and played with the Manchester Flames and the Junior Monarchs.

Johnston, 26, played the last three seasons at the University of New Brunswick and collected 47 points (21-26=47) and 117 penalty minutes. Prior to the University of New Brunswick, Johnston spent six seasons in the Western Hockey League playing for the Medicine Hat Tigers, the Prince George Cougars and the Saskatoon Blades.

The Monarchs open their eighth season on the road against the Portland Pirates at the Cumberland County Civic Center on Saturday, October 11 at 7 p.m. followed by a contest with the Lowell Devils at the Tsongas Arena on Friday, October 17 at 7 p.m. before they return to the Verizon Wireless Arena for the home opener against the Devils on Saturday, October 18 at 7:30 p.m. Catch all of the play-by-play action of Monarchs hockey with Ken Cail on the Monarchs Radio Network WGAM 900/1250 AM and at
