OILERS VS KOPITAR POINTS UPDATE:
Well... as a wise man once said... you can't win 'em all. But if you are the 2013-14 LA Kings... you can win most of them apparently
. The LA Kings lost 3-1 to the defending Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks
... finishing off a 4 game road trip through the bitter cold in which the Kings picked up 6 of a possible 8 points. Yet they are still in the exact position they were when the trip started
... showing just how much of an awful fight the Western Conference will be this season. And even though it was only the 2nd time in 16 games that Ben Scrivens gave up more than 2 goals in a game... The Professor showed exactly why he is still the LA Kings #1 Goalie right now.
Yawn... wake me when you get 1st NHL star of the week, kid.
LA TOURISM BOARD:
Ah, the Edmonton Oilers. Everyone, including myself, felt like this was the year the Edmonton Oilers could finally break through
. And instead, here we are today, and the Edmonton Oilers are the 3rd worst team in the NHL... 18 points out of a playoff spot in the Western Conference. In fact, the Oilers are so bad they are 10 points out of a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
Edmonton Oilers fans, led by the great JSBM Revolution
, have taken the Edmonton Oilers rallying cry of a hashtag, #HereComeTheOilers
... and shown us all exactly what it means.
Honestly, the one part of the Edmonton Oilers organization that has shown the most passion this season has been the Edmonton Oilers Twitter Account. From November 19th, when the Florida Panthers were visiting Pacific Division rival, Vancouver Canucks... ...the Edmonton Oilers Twitter Account decided to get involved... And then, just like the Edmonton Oilers team has done all season long... their Twitter Account totally turtled and backed down. But it was too late... Vancouver was out for blood... And then finally... the Edmonton Oilers scored its first moral victory of the year...
I mean seriously... have you ever seen the Vancouver Canucks get so burned by another NHL team making fun of them for not winning a Stanley Cup?
Oh... I guess you have.
