Sign Up today for LA Kings Royal Readers

by Staff Writer / Los Angeles Kings
A recent Kings Reading Event, with Bailey, alumnus/radio broadcaster Daryl Evans and a student.

Los Angeles Kings Royal Readers is a reading incentive program for students currently enrolled in an elementary school located in the Greater Los Angeles area. Our goal with the Royal Readers program is to encourage children to read outside of the classroom with the hope that it will improve individual literacy.

By participating in Kings Royal Readers, students (KINGdergarten – 5th grade) will have the opportunity to win prizes by successfully reading the most books during the program run. The program will run for a total of five weeks – each of which will represent a portion of a hockey game:

Week 1Warm Up
Week 2First Period
Week 3Second Period
Week 4Third Period
Week 5Overtime

Registration for the program will run from February 1 – February 19. Participants will be asked to track the amount books read for the duration of the program with reading logs to be provided by the Los Angeles Kings. All required paperwork must be submitted to the Los Angeles Kings in order to be eligible for prizes. Royal Readers is open to schools, classrooms and students of the Greater Los Angeles. In addition, the Los Angeles Kings will partner with several schools located in the Greater Los Angeles area to hold school wide “Royal Reading Rallies” that will feature Bailey and various Kings Personalities.
