Seven LA Kings Prospects to Compete at World Junior Summer Showcase

The Kings have more prospects competing in the tournament than any other NHL team

The 2019 World Junior Summer Showcase is an opportunity for the best U-20 players to show off their game ahead of the 2020 IIHF World Junior Championship.

Each of the four teams will be evaluating their roster to prepare for the World Junior Championship, which will be held in the Czech Republic from December 26 through January 5.

This year, the Summer Showcase is held in Plymouth, Michigan at the USA Hockey Arena. The week-long tournament features 11 games between the United States, Canada, Sweden and Finland.

Seven Kings prospects are competing in the event, including Alex Turcotte and Arthur Kaliyev for Team USA, Aidan Dudas and Akil Thomas for Team Canada, Samuel Fagemo and Tobias Bjornfot for Team Sweden, and Kim Nousiainen for Team Finland.

The final three days of the tournament will be available on NHL Network, starting on July 31. The full TV schedule is:

July 31

  • Canada vs. Finland (10 a.m.)
  • United States vs. Sweden (1 p.m.)

August 2

  • Sweden vs Canada (10 a.m.)
  • Finland vs. United States (1 p.m.)

August 3

  • Sweden vs. Finland (10 a.m.)
  • Canada vs. United States (1 p.m.)
