LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Kings have placed forward Brandon Segal on the injured reserve list (retroactive to Dec. 2) with a lower-body injury, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced Tuesday. Kings Injury Report

Segal, 26, suffered the injury during the Kings-Ducks game Dec. 1 in Anaheim. The 6-2, 209-pound native of Richmond British Columbia was recalled from the Manchester Monarchs (AHL) on Nov. 23 and made his Kings debut Nov. 25 at Edmonton.
In four games with the Kings Segal had zero points and zero penalty minutes. In 21 games with Manchester this season he had 14 points (6-8=14) and 34 penalty minutes.
Segal appeared in his first two games in the NHL last season with Tampa Bay. He also appeared in 69 games with the AHL’s Norfolk Admirals, recording 52 points (26-26=52) and 95 penalty minutes. He was named to the 2009 Canadian AHL All-Star Team last season as well. Segal was signed by the Kings as an unrestricted free agent on July 13.
