Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League and the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League, today announced that goaltender Cody Rudkowsky was selected as the runner up Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week for the sixth week of the season, November 21st through 27th.
During the week, Rudkowsky won both games he played for the Royals, stopping all nineteen shots he faced for his first shutout of the season last Tuesday (November 22) in a 5-0 win over the Trenton Titans and stopping 25 of the 26 shots he faced from the Titans in the Royals 5-1 win in Trenton on Saturday, November 26. Statistically for the week, Rudkowsky went 2-0-0, with a 0.55 goals against average, and a .978 save percentage.
This marks the second time this season that Rudkowsky has been selected as the runner up Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week. Jason Wolfe of the Augusta Lynx (2-0-0, 1.44, .969) received the award for this past week. Rudkowsky, a seventh year pro from Willingdon, Alberta, is currently riding a personal five game win streak, as he ran his overall record to 8-1-0 with his performance this week. Overall this season, Rudkowsky is second in the league in wins (8), goals against average (1.66) and save percentage (.940).
