The Ontario Reign, proud affiliate of the NHL Los Angeles Kings and AHL Manchester Monarchs, announced Tuesday that they have signed rookie forward Peter Lenes to a standard player contract for the 2009-2010 season.
Lenes, 23, will be kicking off his professional career this season with the Reign. For the past four years, the Shelburne, Vt. native played with the University of Vermont, recording a total of 46 goals and 46 assists for 92 points and 99 penalty minutes in 148 games.
In his senior year, Lenes ranked second on the team in scoring with 15 goals and 31 points.
"Peter is a player who we expect to step in and be a big part of our offense," said Coach Karl Taylor. "He has a great one-timer and good hands around the net."
