ONTARIO, Calif. – The Ontario Reign of the ECHL, proud affiliate of the NHL Los Angeles Kings and the AHL Manchester Monarchs, announced Friday that they have signed Center Dusty Collins, LW Ryan MacGregor and RW Brad Mehalko to the Reign 2008-09 roster. According to Club policy, terms of the deals were not disclosed.

Collins, 23, suits up for the Reign after spending the 2007-08 season with the Arizona Sundogs of the CHL. While with the Sundogs, Dusty averaged nearly a point per game as he slotted 23 goals, assisted on 30 others (53 points) and tallied 126 penalty minutes in 63 games. He spent his collegiate career playing for Northern Michigan University (NCAA) from 2003-07. During his time as a Wildcat, the 6-foot 3-inch, 210-pound, Gilbert, Arizona native accumulated 25 points (11 goals, 14 assists) and 135 penalty minutes over his career. In 2006-07 Collins also spent an 11-game stint with the Springfield Falco ns of the AHL where he collected 11 penalty minutes.

Collins was a member of the U.S. National Under-18 Team from 2001-03, where he and his teammates were the winners of a gold medal in the 2002 World Under-17 Challenge in Winnipeg. In 2004 the Tampa Bay Lightning selected Collins in the 5th round (#163 overall) of the NHL Entry Draft.

MacGregor, 26, joins the Reign from the ECHL Dayton Bombers where he played 20 games in 2007-08, accumulating five points (2g, 3a) and 39 penalty minutes. The 6-foot, 180-pound, left winger, began the 2007-08 season with the Jacksonville Barracudas (SPHL) where he scored nine goals, assisted on 10 others (19 points) and gathered 40 penalty minutes. Ryan made his way from the Barracudas to the ECHL Reading Royals where he posted one goal and two assists (3 points) in his 13-game stretch with the team before heading to Dayton.

The Carleton Place, Ontario native spent four years (2003-07) skating for the University of Waterloo (CIS) in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. Over his collegiate career, MacGregor participated in 83 games, finding the back of the net 21 times, and assisting his teammates 24 times while tallying 84 penalty minutes. MacGregor also spent two seasons with the North Bay Centennials of the OHL from 2000-02.

Mehalko, 31, joins the 2008-09 Reign roster from overseas where he played 17 games for the Thuringen EHC of the German Oberliga league. In 17 games, he scored seven goals and assisted on six others for 13 points. Mehalko brings experience to the Reign from a hockey career that spans nearly 15 years with time spent in various leagues including international competition. He was a member of the 1999-00 Canadian National Team and made his way to the ECHL when he played for the Charlotte Checkers in 2000-01.

During his ECHL career, including the Charlotte Checkers, Brad suited up for the Trenton Titans (2002-03), Wheeling Nailers (2003-04), Fresno Falcons (2003-04) and the Bakersfield Condors (2004-06) for 175 games, accumulating 53 goals, 70 assists (123 points) and 279 penalty minutes. Mehalko also spent parts of two seasons in the AHL with the Hartford Wolf Pack from 2000-02. While in the AHL, Brad posted 10 goals, assisted on 18 others and racked up 132 penalty minutes in 68 games.

The 6-foot one-inch Enchant, Alberta native, was selected by the San Jose Sharks in the 7th round (#167 overall) of the 1995 NHL Entry Draft.
