by Staff Writer / Los Angeles Kings
ONTARIO, Calif. – The Ontario Reign, proud affiliate of the NHL Los Angeles Kings and AHL Manchester Monarchs, announced that defenseman Andrew Martens has been loaned to the Toronto Marlies (AHL). The Reign has also added defenseman Adam Wood, who signed a contract with the team on March 9.

Martens, 27, appeared in 48 games with the Reign this season. The defenseman notched seven goals and 24 assists (for 31 points), and recorded 78 penalty minutes with the club. Martens currently leads the Reign in assists with 24, and scored the first-ever goal in club history (against the Condors on October 18, 2008 in Bakersfield).

Wood, 25, joins the Reign for his second professional season. The Toronto, Ontario (Canada) native played 13 games in the ECHL during the 2007-2008 season (with the Reading Royals and Cincinnati Cyclones), and 17 games with the Arizona Sundogs (CHL).
