by Staff Writer / Los Angeles Kings
West Valley City, Utah – The Ontario Reign, proud affiliate of the NHL’s Los Angeles Kings, lost 5-1 to the Utah Grizzlies before a crowd of 5,724 at Maverik Center Saturday night.

The Grizzlies jumped out to a 2-0 lead on power-play goals by Tom May and Marcus Carroll before the Reign’s Pat Bowen made it 2-1 with his third goal of the season.  Utah gave up an odd-man rush and Bowen converted the opportunity with a fierce shot at 7:41 of the second period.  Utah added a power-play goal by May at 12:24 and an even-strength goal by Brian Kilburg at 19:10 to extend the Utah lead to 4-1.

May completed the hat trick 37 seconds into the third period and Utah went on to defeat Ontario 5-1.

Mike Zacharias made 43 saves in the loss while Tyler Sims won it with 20 saves.

Tonight's three stars were:

1. UTA – Tom May
2. UTA – Kevin Deeth
3. UTA – Matt Clarke
