Reign Fall to Jackals, 3-1

ONTARIO, Calif. – The Ontario Reign, proud affiliate of the NHL’s Los Angeles Kings, fell 3-1 to the Elmira Jackals before 4,881 fans at Citizens Business Bank Arena Sunday night.

The Reign jumped out to a 1-0 lead on a Chaz Johnson power-play goal.  David Walker fired a slap shot from the point and Johnson was there to pick up the rebound and backhand it into the net at 8:58 of the first period.  It was Johnson's fourth goal and fifth point in the series against his former team.  The Jackals tied it at one on a goal by Jason Bailey at 18:57.

The game remained tied until 18:17 of the third period when Patrick Coulombe put Elmira up 2-1 on the power play.  Bailey added an empty-net goal at 19:56 to make the final score Jackals 3, Reign 1.

Mike Zacharias made 32 saves for the Reign, while Timo Pielmeier stopped 26.
