ONTARIO, Calif. – The Ontario Reign, proud affiliate of the NHL’s Los Angeles Kings, announced that they have added defenseman Shawn Germain and right wing Alex Bourret to the lineup.
Germain, 28, spent his last two seasons in Ontario, recording 32 points (5g, 27a) and 61 penalty minutes in 114 games with the Reign. The defenseman, who hails from Saint Paul, Alberta, also spent two seasons from 2006-2008 with the Reading Royals. Germain tallied 25 points (4g, 21a) and 121 penalty minutes in 133 matches with the Royals and was also named the defensive player of the year both seasons.
Bourret, 24, split the 2009-2010 season between the Brno Kometa (Czech) and the Las Vegas Wranglers (ECHL). The right winger recorded an assist in 16 games with the Brno Komenta before notching 46 points (18g, 28a) and 81 penalty minutes in 36 games with the Wranglers. Bourret, a Drummondville, Quebec, native, was drafted in the first round (16th overall) by the Atlanta Thrashers in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
