Quick ranked 3rd in NHL 16

by Alex Kinkopf / Los Angeles Kings

In anticipation of the release of EA Sports’ 25th installment of their NHL series, ‘NHL 16’, they’ve published their list of the Top 10 ranked goaltenders to be featured in the game when it hits shelves in North American stores on September 15.

Kings goaltender Jonathan Quick has been tabbed with a player ranking of 93 – tying him for 2nd overall on EA’s Top 10 list with New York’s Henrik Lundqvist. Montreal’s Carey Price is #1 on EA’s list, chiming in with a player ranking of 94 – just eking out Quick for the top spot.

“Quick is coming off an above-average year as a pro and is in his prime, healthy, and recovered from a full off-season,” Jon Rosen said in his 2014-’15 evaluation of the Kings’ netminder, “so he should be of zero concern to the Kings in 2015-16.”

Quick started 71 games last season, appeared in a total of 72, posting a 36-22-13 record, notching a .915 SV% and a 2.27 GAA.

The full rankings list looks as follows:

10: Frederik Andersen – ANA (89)
9: Semyon Varlamov – COL (89)
8: Cory Schneider – NJD (90)
7: Sergei Bobrovsky – CBJ (90)
6: Braden Holtby – WAS (91)
5: Pekka Rinne – NSH (92)
4: Tuukka Rask – BOS (92)
Jonathan Quick – LAK (93)
2: Henrik Lundqvist – NYR (93)
1: Carey Price – MON (94)

There is a new feature in this year's game that will allow users to 'Control the Crease' - the trailer for the brand-new feature can be seen below.
