Come out for Pride Night this Thursday as we face the Arizona Coyotes! Lots happening that evening.
Robbie Rogers - LA Galaxy player and the first openly gay man to compete in a top North American pro sports league - will perform the ceremonial puck drop before the game begins.
In addition, LGBT Activist, Philanthropist, Restauranteur and TV Personality Lisa Vanderpump will be attending her first game! She will be involved in a number of activities during the game.
This past year, Lisa Vanderpump has spoken before the United Nations; introduced a resolution before Congress to Stop The Dog Meat Trade in Yulin, China; been presented the "Straight Ally" Award by EQUALITY CALIFORNIA; recognized by the California State Assembly as "Woman of the Year" and been a advocate for both GLAAD and the Trevor Project.
Dr. Drew Pinsky, best known as a celebrity doctor and LGBT ally, will sing the national anthem; the Los Angeles Blades - the first openly Gay and Lesbian ice hockey team in the United States - will be in attendance; and Jeff Archibald, a gay marine and recreational ice hockey player, will be honored as our Hero of the Game.
As the Kings and Coyotes take the ice to warm up, several players will use Pride Tape on their sticks. They will be autographed and auctioned at www.lakings.com/auctions.
Kings fans can support You Can Play during the game by purchasing your own rainbow stick tape and themed LA Kings shirts at the Team LA store.
Not only that, but you'll be able to take a photo on the concourse with the Rose Bowl Trophy! It was won by USC in a memorable comeback victory over Penn State. The price: a $5 donation, which goes directly to You Can Play.
Finally, all in attendance in-arena will receive a Luc Robitaille figurine, sponsored by Mercury Insurance.
