KINGS HEAD COACH DARRYL SUTTER:
(Re game recap): "We played against a top team in the conference and only scoring one goal and giving up two easy ones."
(Re two goals): "We got beat out of the corner and we got beat at the top of the circles."
(Re playing phoenix): "We'll think about that tomorrow."
KINGS FORWARD MARIAN GABORIK:
(Re game recap): “We have to play our game. We struggled in some areas making little plays and have to try to get more quality chances. They called [off] that second goal…touched the goalie before the puck went in, but I don’t know I haven’t seen the replay but it is what it is.”
KINGS FORWARD TYLER TOFFOLI:
(Re game recap): “It’s playoff hockey right now we’re fighting for points, they’re fighting for points. It was a hard game. I think we didn’t play the best that we could, but I think we know now that the rest of the season here we have to play hard and play the right way. On (Monday) we got to play our game. We got to play the right way. We know they are a fast team they got a lot of skill so we have to play hard and play a strong 60 minutes.”
ANAHEIM HEAD COACH BRUCE BOUDREAU:
(6-4 game then a 2-1 game): “Well these are the games that I prefer as a coach, and then we went five games allowing three or more. Which isn’t really our identity. We got back to good goal tending and committing in front of the net. I thought it worked pretty good.”
(Disallowed goal): “They ran right into our goalie. I’ve seen so many, a lot less things called for penalties. I’m surprised they didn’t get a penalty. We knew automatically, that there was no way that was going to count.”
(Like the response after these last two games): “Yeah, I mean it was a tough Thursday. I mean we were searching for a couple answers, and we knew we’re better than what we showed in the previous three games. I thought we played a more solid game on Friday and then we came back and did better today. I think it’s us getting back to where we can be. The fact we have never won in this building, since I’ve been here, was like a little feather in our hat.”
ANAHEIM GOALTENDER FREDERIK ANDERSEN:
(Re keys to tonight’s victory): “Playing physical and dumping the puck in. It was important to get behind their defensemen and protect the middle of the ice. I think we have done a good job of that the last few games.”
ANAHEIM FORWARD RYAN GETZLAF:
(Re finishing first in the division): “We are trying to build toward the playoffs. In order for us to hit the playoffs in stride, we would like to be in first place. We have earned it all season long, and we don’t want to let that slip away at the end of the year. It’s a goal of ours. It means we would get home ice advantage throughout the playoffs, and that is what we are looking for.”
