by Alex Kinkopf / Los Angeles Kings

Throughout the NHL playoffs, LAKings.com will provide updates to each match up, documenting the most popular highlights, snippets from social media, and other happenings every Monday and Thursday of each week.

EASTERN CONFERENCE FINAL

THE SERIES: RANGERS LEAD 1-0

The opening game of this series almost remained scoreless through the first two periods until Derek Stepan gave the Rangers a 1-0 lead with 13 seconds left in the second period.

Tampa Bay's Ondrej Palat tied the game with just under 15 minutes to play in regulation.

Dominic Moore scored his first goal of the playoffs - a crucial one, as he drove to Ben Bishop's net and had a pass attempt ricochet off his shin pad and into the net to give the Rangers a 2-1 lead with under three minutes to play.

Than Rangers went on to win the game 2-1 to take a 1-0 series lead. Of course, Moore was given the Broadway hat.

WESTERN CONFERENCE FINAL

DUCKS LEAD 1-0

Like always, Blackhawks fans are traveling well.

Unfortunately for them, though, Chicago dropped Game 1 of this series by way of a 4-1 score. Frederik Andersen played outstanding for Anaheim, making 32 saves on the 33 shots he faced - including this one on Patrick Kane:

Brad Richards was the only Blackhawks player to find the back of the net.

And it wasn't enough to keep up with the Ducks' rolling offense.
