Q: What are you working on right now in anticipation of the start of the season?
A: There is a lot going on with the season right around the corner. In terms of the Kings Care Foundation we are in the process of planning an LAFD fundraiser as part of Hockey Fest, putting the final touches on the 12th Annual Kings Care Foundation Golf Tournament, finalizing the location for Tip-A-King (set for November 13), and working closely on an LAPD Fundraiser for 10/22 and a Hockey Fights Cancer Fundraiser for 10/25. We also try to plan out our in-game silent auctions and specialty item sales for the season as much as we can. Community Relations wise, we have been meeting regularly with our community partners (Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, Make A Wish Foundation, LAUSD, American Heart Association, Movember to name a few) finalizing our plans and programming for the season launch and next couple of months. Also with the players and their families coming back into town, we try to meet with them to discuss their community involvement. We are very fortunate to have such great players (and their wives and girlfriends) to work with.
Q: What are you looking forward to the most this year?
A: The Playoffs! The last two years, we’ve had a taste of the excitement, but everyone in the office knows the potential that this year’s team has. It’s going to be an exciting year.
Q: What is your all-time favorite Kings moment?
A: The first playoff game at STAPLES Center in 2010. I’ve been to a lot of sporting events; Never heard a building that loud. It was awesome.
Q: What did you do this summer for fun?
A: I went back home to New York a couple of times. It was nice to just relax and hang out with friends and family.
