NHLPA Player Poll Results: Kopitar, Doughty, Quick All Rank Near the Top

More than 500 NHL-ers were surveyed for the
2017-18 NHLPA player poll
, where players were asked more than 20 questions on a broad range of league-related topics.
This is one of the rare times players are ranked by their peers, which equated to some interesting findings.
Lucky for us, the LA Kings' players were at the forefront of the conversation.

Jonathan Quick, who was injured for the better part of last season, has provided a sense of calmness in the crease this year.
He was voted by a substantial 12.1% of skaters as the second most difficult goalie to score on.

He fell short only to Montreal Canadiens' goalie Carey Price.
John Stevens is well aware of Quick's presence, as
he told the LA Kings Insider
, "We know him and appreciate him. Not only is he a great goalie, he's a great teammate. I mean, he's one of the best goalie teammates that I've seen."

Anze Kopitar has shown why he deserves to be the captain of the Kings, leading the team both on and off the ice.
This season, he has personally pushed the Kings to wins in several multi-point games, and has produced an impressive 71 points and 27 goals to date.

Players around the league have noticed his bounce back season, as he was voted the fifth "Most Difficult Player to Play Against" just behind Sidney Crosby, Connor McDavid, Patrick Kane and Shea Weber.

Out of the league's forwards, he was voted third "Most Difficult Forward to Play Against."
Kopitar also came in as the fourth "Best Team Player" in the NHL.
We can all agree that if Anze Kopitar went to our high school, he would have been the Prom King.

Perennial Norris Trophy candidate Drew Doughty was voted the second "Most Difficult Defenseman to Play Against."

Erik Karlsson was the only player to rank higher, and just by a shy 1.7%.
Doughty not only acts as a brick wall on the ice, but seems to be having a heck of a time doing it. His animated emotions and goofy toothless smiles keep the fans wanting more. And opponents wanting less.

In other polls, it was discovered that 77.7% of players like the way points are currently awarded for a win or loss in the regular season, where 22.3% would prefer a change, such as a three-point system.
Of all the 31 arenas (or "barns" as they are affectionately called by our neighbors to the north) across the NHL, STAPLES Center was voted as the players' fourth favorite arena in the league.
The Kings' home building, which is located smack-dab in downtown LA's entertainment district, is also home to the LA Lakers and LA Clippers.
With palm trees and sunshine almost 300 days of the year, what's not to like?
