WHAT:The official christening of “Slap Shot,” a custom-designed Open 6.50 sail boat that will take to the Pacific Ocean in open sailing competition as a joint promotion between the two organizations. The “Slap Shot” is a custom-designed sail boat featuring the Kings’ color scheme of purple, silver, white and black that will proudly display both the Kings and D.I.S.C. logos on the sails. The “Slap Shot” will be officially unveiled to fans outside STAPLES Center on Thursday, April 8, beginning at 5:30 p.m. with a whole host of activities prior to the Kings-Phoenix Coyotes game which begins at 7:30 p.m.
