Hershey broke the scoreless tie on a tally from center Matt Hendricks at the 13:09 mark of the first period. Milam cradled a pass in the left circle and fired a quick pass through the crease to Hendricks who placed the puck into the open net as the pass caught Monarchs goaltender Jason LaBarbera off guard. Right wing Alexandre Giroux and Milam earned assists on the goal.

At 5:03 of the second frame, right wing Scott Barney increased the Bear's lead to 2-0. The former Monarchs forward cradled the puck at the left point and sent a snap shot through multiple screens toward LaBarbera. The disc found its way through the maze of bodies and into the net over LaBarbera's right shoulder. Center Kyle Wilson and Milam tallied assists on Barney's eighth goal of the playoffs.

The Monarchs didn't disappoint the hometown fans as they spoiled Bear's goaltender Frederic Cassivi's shutout at the 12:09 mark of the third period. Centers Matt Ryan and Patrick O'Sullivan broke into the Hershey zone on a 2-on-1. O'Sullivan slid the puck underneath a sliding defenseman and onto the tape of Ryan who snapped a one-timer into the back of the net.

LaBarbera took the loss stopping 27 shots. Cassivi earned the win with 31 saves.

Manchester went 0-for-2 on the power play. Hershey was 1-for-4 with the man advantage.
