MONARCHS RETURN HOME DOWN 0-2

HERSHEY, PA – Defenseman Mike Green tallied twice to lead the Hershey Bears past the Manchester Monarchs 4-1 in game two of the 2007 Calder Cup Eastern Conference Final in front of 8,346 fans at the Giant Center on Sunday night. The Monarchs return home to "Unite In White" against the Bears in game three on Wednesday, May 23 at the Verizon Wireless Arena at 7:05 p.m. Fans are encouraged to where white to the game in order to whiteout Hershey.

Green put the Bears on the board at 4:35 of the first period with his fifth playoff goal. Defenseman Dean Arsene slid the puck over to Green at the center point who ripped a slap shot into the back of the net for a 1-0 lead. Center Andrew Joudrey earned an assist on the first goal of the game.

The Monarchs tied the game at 1-1 at 17:14 of the opening frame with a 5-on-3 power play goal from center Patrick O'Sullivan. Defenseman T. J. Kemp received the puck on the right point from his defensive partner Peter Harrold and sent a pass over to O'Sullivan at the right face-off circle. O'Sullivan fired a blistering slap shot over the left shoulder of goaltender Frederic Cassivi for his eighth playoff tally.

Hershey answered back with a power play goal of their own at 19:29 of the first period. Right wing Scott Barney skated down the right wing with two Monarchs players putting on the pressure. Barney slid the puck past his opponents and to a streaking center Kyle Wilson for the tip past Monarchs goaltender Jason LaBarbera.

Green tallied his second of the night with a power play goal at 7:32 of the second period. After serving a two-minute penalty for holding, Green stepped out of the box and collected a pass from defenseman Tyler Sloan. On the breakaway, Green sent a wrist shot over the left shoulder of LaBarbera for a 3-1 lead.

Center Matt Hendricks scored an empty net goal at 19:19 of the final frame to finish the game at 4-1.

LaBarbera took the loss with 22 saves. Cassivi earned the win with 30 saves.

Manchester went 1-for-14 on the power play. Hershey was 2-for-7 with the man advantage.
