MANCHESTER, NH - The Manchester Monarchs, primary affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, have assigned right wing J.D. Watt to the ECHL’s Ontario Reign, Director of Hockey Operations Hubie McDonough announced today.
In two stints with the Monarchs this season, Watt recorded three points (2-1=3) and 27 penalty minutes in 17 games. The 6-foot-2, 196-pound native of Cremona, Alberta made his debut with the Monarchs on Wednesday, December 14 which also marked his 150th AHL game. Watt has also appeared in 22 games for the Reign this season recording seven points (1-6=7) and 66 penalty minutes. During the 2009-10 season, the right wing played in 27 games and registered four points (1-3=4), 74 penalty minutes and an AHL career-best plus-7 ratio with the Abbotsford Heat. In 166 career AHL games with the Quad City Flames, San Antonio Rampage, the Heat and the Monarchs, Watt has recorded 24 points (12-12=24) and 526 penalty minutes.
