Michael Richards To Host 2011 Charity Golf Tournament Presented By RBC

(Kenora, ON) – Los Angeles Kings’ Michael Richards will host the second annual “Michael Richards Charity Golf Tournament Presented By RBC” at the Kenora Golf and Country Club on July 14, 2011, with all proceeds benefiting the Canadian Cancer Society and Kenora and Lake of the Woods Regional Community Foundation.

"Because of everyone’s hard work, dedication and support last year, we were able to help these two worthy causes. I am looking forward to building on that success and making this year even better," said Richards.

The 2010 inaugural event saw many golfers, guests and sponsors, raised over $11,000 which was split evenly between the Cancer Society and Community Foundation.

"The 2011 sponsor response, especially our presenting sponsor RBC, has been overwhelming and sincerely appreciated," added Richards.

The Michael Richards Charity Golf Tournament consists of:

Michael Richards, a native of Kenora, was a 2010 Olympic Gold Medalist with Team Canada and 2010 Stanley Cup Finalist with the Flyers and a recently became a member of the Los Angeles Kings. He played minor hockey in the Lake of the Woods Minor Hockey Association before moving on to the Kitchener Rangers of the Ontario Hockey League and eventually the NHL. Mike continues to reside on Lake of the Woods near Kenora during the summer off-season.
