Luc Robitaille Statue Unveiled At STAPLES Center To Honor Legendary Los Angeles King On March 7th

The unveiling of a bronze statue of legendary Los Angeles Kings and Hockey Hall of Famer Luc Robitaille in Star Plaza at STAPLES Center prior to the LA Kings vs. Pittsburgh Penguins game that evening. Fans can watch from a limited viewing area or it will be broadcast in the arena, be in your seats by 6!
In keeping with STAPLES Center guidelines, once you enter the building with your ticket you will not be allowed to exit and re-enter.

As a tribute to legendary Kings player and the NHL’s All-Time Leading Scoring Left Winger, the Los Angeles Kings, STAPLES Center and AEG organizations commissioned the creation of a bronze statue and granite pedestal totaling 2500 lbs., nearly 19’ of the Hockey Hall of Famer.

The statue, created by renowned artists Julie Rotblatt Amrany, Omri Amrany and Itamar Amrany will join other iconic sculptures of celebrated sports superstars Wayne Gretzky, Earvin “Magic” Johnson, Jerry West, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Chick Hearn and Oscar De La Hoya. Abdul Jabbar’s statue (dedicated November 16, 2012), West’s statue (dedicated February 17, 2011), Johnson’s statue (dedicated February 11, 2004) and Hearn’s statue (dedicated April 20, 2010) were also created by Julie Rotblatt Amrany and Omri Amrany.

The ceremony, which is open free to the public, will be highlighted by speeches from Luc Robitaille, members of his family and other individuals who were his teammates, colleagues and friends during his unprecedented career and will conclude with an incredible unveiling of the statue.
