by Alex Kinkopf / Los Angeles Kings

Before the week…

RECORD – 2-3-0
POINTS – 4
STANDINGS – 4th, Pacific Division; 11th, Western Conference

AT San Jose
Thursday, 10/22 (W, 4-1)

After three full days rest, the Kings traveled to San Jose to play their first road game of the season. Jhonas Enroth made his Kings debut, starting in net, stopping 29 of the 40 shots he faced. Jeff Carter recorded four points (2G, 2A), Milan Lucic scored his first goal in a Kings uniform, and Tyler Toffoli buried his fourth goal of the season.

Butttt...the celebrations aren't quite in mid-season form yet.

VS Carolina
Friday, 10/23 (W, 3-0)

Jonathan Quick returned to the Kings’ net, and was perfect, pitching a 40-save shutout in the Kings’ win. For Quick it was his third straight win, and his 10th career regular season game facing 40 shots or more; he has never lost in regulation in those situations (8-0-2).

AT Edmonton
Sunday, 10/25 (W, 3-2)

The Kings began a two-game road trip to end the week, inching out a win over the Oilers. Jeff Carter’s first period goal helped the Kings overcome an early deficit, and Tanner Pearson scored his first goal of the season, the eventual game-winner, with just over three minutes remaining in regulation. Jonathan Quick robbed Connor McDavid with a controversial glove save to secure the win for the Kings with three seconds left on the clock.

HIGHLIGHTS:

Tyler Toffoli pulled an absolutely mind-blowing move on his buddy Martin Jones on Thursday night, giving the Kings a 1-0 lead on the Sharks. Toffoli, on a two-on-one sequence, slowed down the play, snuck around Jones, and tucked the puck in behind San Jose’s goaltender. Wow.

Tanner Pearson, situated in front of Edmonton’s net during a power play late in Sunday’s game with the score tied, corralled a loose puck and buried it past Cam Talbot, scoring his first goal of the season and giving the Kings a 3-2 lead with just over three minutes to play.

During the final seconds of Sunday’s game, Jonathan Quick reached out and robbed rookie Connor McDavid of a golden scoring opportunity. With controversy surrounding Quick’s save, the refs called the officials in Toronto for verification. Quick’s save stood, and the Kings hung on to win 3-2.
