THE WEEK:

VS ARIZONA (W, 1-0)

The Kings began their week with a 1-0 shutout victory in their final meeting against the Arizona Coyotes this season. Andy Andreoff scored his first career NHL goal with just over a minute to play in the second period – which would eventually be the night’s game-winning tally. Jonathan Quick stopped all 20 shots he faced, recording his sixth shutout of the season. The Kings finished 3-0-1 in their four regular season meetings against Arizona.

AT ANAHEIM (OTL, 3-2)

The Kings couldn’t hang onto their early lead Wednesday night in Anaheim; the Ducks scoring two goals in the third period on their way to a 3-2 OT victory. Jeff Carter gave the Kings a 1-0 lead in the first period; Justin Williams extended the game to OT with his game-tying marker with 4:14 to play in regulation. Ryan Kesler buried the game-winning goal for the Ducks 45 seconds into overtime.

VS VANCOUVER (L, 4-1)

Marian Gaborik gave the Kings a 1-0 lead with a power play goal in the opening seconds of the second period, but the Kings couldn’t build on Gaborik’s opening goal. The Canucks responded with a pair of goals to take a 2-1 lead in the third period, and then tacked on two empty-net goals to secure a 4-1 win. Jonathan Quick was impressive in the loss, making 38 saves on 40 shots faced.
