Kings News's Plays of the Week

by Staff Writer / Los Angeles Kings has selected our favorite plays of the week from Oct. 19-25.

The Kings had their second four-game win streak of the season during the week, sweeping a home and home with the Stars and then avenging two earlier losses with wins over Phoenix and Columbus.

The Kings finished off a 3-3 road trip with a 4-1 win at Dallas on Oct. 19, a 5-4 OT win over those same Stars. LA then took a back-to-back with a 5-3 win at Phoenix and a 6-2 win over Columbus.

In the final game of a season-long six-game road trip, Anze Kopitar blisters a one-timer past Dallas goaltender Marty Turco for a 3-1 lead over the Stars, coached by former Kings coach Marc Crawford.
Looking to avenge their opening-night loss to the Phoenix Coyotes, the Kings tied the game at 1-1 on a beautiful power-play goal in the second period. Anze Kopitar finds Dustin Brown with a pass right in front of Phoenix goalie Ilya Bryzgalov, who puts the puck into a wide-open net.
Anze Kopitar scores the first and most impressive of his hat trick, fighting off two defenders and beating Marty Turco for a 1-0 lead. Terry Murray said that there was no way that Kopitar scores that goal last season. Kopitar then scored two more goals for his first career hat trick.
Jarret Stoll scores his second goal of the night, skating across the goalmouth and putting it past Phoenix goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov while falling down for a 3-1 Kings lead. On the play, Stoll was set up with a great pass from rookie Scott Parse, who notched his first career NHL point with the assist.
With the Kings on a 5-on-3 advantage, the Kings cycled the puck down twice before Anze Kopitar slips a cross-ice pass to the tape of Jarret Stoll for a quick one-timer and a 2-1 Kings lead.
