The Guitar Hero of the Month for December is Anze Kopitar, who recieved 47 percent of the 521 votes online, besting Dustin Brown (34 percent), Rob Blake (13 percent) and Tom Preissing (six percent). November's winner was also Kopitar, who received 42 percent of the 582 votes cast on The Kings previous winners are both goaltenders, with the Rookie Jonathan Bernier taking the vote for the Month of September and Jason LaBarbera earning the honor in October.

For December, Kopitar tallied 6-11=17 in 16 games during the month...his 11 assists were a team-high for the month...had an eight-game point streak that started at the end of November (Nov. 28 to Dec. 12) scoring 6-6=12...during that span, Kopitar had four-assist game vs. Buffalo on Dec. 6, he totaled three multi-point efforts during the month...he had at least one point in 12-of-16 games played in December...Kopitar earned NHL's Third Star of the Week honors for the period ending Dec. 9.

The other nominess were:

Rob Blake: The Kings captain finished the month scoring 2-8=10 with a +4 rating and 52 penalty minutes in 16 games...he had a three-game point streak from Dec. 21-26, scoring 1-3=4 over that span...he had two multi-point games and was a +3 Dec. 29 at Colorado.

Dustin Brown: Brown had a very good month of December, scoring 8-7=15 in 16 games after missing two games due to a shoulder injury...His eight goals led the team in December...he tallied the overtime game-winning goal on Dec. 30 at Chicago...had five mult-point games and two multi-goal games during the month...had a nine-game point streak that started in November (Nov. 24 - Dec. 10) as Brownie tallied 6-8=14 over that span.

Tom Preissing: Preissing tallied 4-4=8 in 14 games during the month...all four goals were scored on the power play...tallied 2-1=3 vs. Buffalo on Dec. 6, including the game-winning goal...also had a multi-assist game on Dec. 30 at Chicago...six of eight points were earned on the power play.
