Kings-Care-Nov-9-Event

On Monday, November 9, the LA Kings in partnership with the Bob Hope USO and BELFOR Property Restoration, gave away one ball and one hockey stick to 150 children of military families.
The drive-thru giveaway took place at the Battleship Iowa in San Pedro. In addition to receiving a ball and stick, families were also provided with dinner to-go.
LA Kings Alumni and Radio Analyst Daryl Evans was there to help hand out the sticks and balls to the kids. After the event, all registered families received a follow up email with a link to the LA Kings Skills Video Series, Learn at Home, YMCA Ball Hockey and more.
Once it is safe to do so, the LA Kings plan to set up an in-person clinic event with the kids where they can learn and practice the basics of ball hockey.

Additionally, to honor the sacrifice of members of our Armed Forces on Veteran's Day, the LA Kings are proud to celebrate five military Heroes, one from each branch of the military:
Sergeant First Class Jeremiah R. Johnson of the US Army has been serving since June of 2003 and has received awards such as the Army Commendation Medal and Join Service Achievement Medal.
QMSN Duncan Ellis of the US Navy currently serves on the USS Sterett which is homeported in San Diego, CA.
First Sergeant Erick Guzman of the US Marine Corps has been serving since October of 1998, moving up the ranks to his current position in August of 2016.
Technical Sergeant Francisco Gonzalez of the US Air Force enlisted in 2009 and has completed two deployments to the Middle East in support of Operation New Dawn and Operation Inherent Resolve.
Boatswain's Mate 2nd Class Kaleb Doucette of the US Coast Guard has served since 2011 in a variety of units including Coast Guard Cutter Valiant and has also been deployed overseas to Bahrain on the Coast Guard Cutter Maui.

The LA Kings have a long standing relationship with our armed forces, and while we weren't able to celebrate with our typical Salute to Service game at STAPLES Center, we are committed to showing our pride for our troops and celebrating all they do for our country.
