Happy New Year Kings fans! As we've moved into 2023, we must not forget about the last days of 2022. Catching you up on the top performances from the Kings prospects, we recap the latest notable events among the future of Kings hockey.

Jack Hughes (Northeastern, NCAA)

The Kings first selection in the 2022 NHL draft had his best weekend of season for Northeastern University with four points (1-3=4) in two games. Highlighted by a three-point game against fellow prospect Alex Laferriere, Hughes picked up his eighth, ninth and 10th point on season last weekend. Hughes now has three goals and seven assist across 17 games played thus season. Drafted in the second round, 51st overall, Hughes is in his sophomore season for the Huskies.

Alex Laferriere (Harvard, NCAA)

The 83rd overall selection of the 2020 draft has continued his scoring spree with the Harvard Crimson. Just last week, Laferriere put together a four-point game (2-2=5) and five-point weekend (2-3=5) against fellow Kings prospect Jack Hughes and the Northeastern Huskies. Laferriere's performance earned him his third ECAC Forward of the Week Award this season. Laferriere currently leads the Harvard Crimson in goals (9) and is tied for second on the team in points (17).

Kenny Connors (UMASS, NCAA)

Having represented Team USA at the 2023 World Junior Championships, Kenny Connors now comes home with a bronze medal. Connors recorded two goals for the red, white and blue in seven games, including a big goal in the semifinal against game Clarke's Team Canada to put the Americans up 2-0 at the time. Despite falling to Team Canada 6-2 in that semifinal game, Connors was recognized as Team USA's player of the game. Connors will return back to college at UMASS-Amherst where he leads the Minutemen in goals (7) and points (17) in 16 games played.
