LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Kings will honor Tony Granato on Tuesday, February 24, before the Kings-Red Wings game at STAPLES Center as part of this season’s popular Legends Night Series presented by McDonald’s.
In addition, Granato will take part in a special Legends Luncheon hosted by Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar that afternoon from 11:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. The event will take place at Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar (800 West Olympic Blvd.) and will be hosted by Kings radio broadcaster Nick Nickson.
A limited number of tickets are available for the luncheon. Fleming’s is providing a Prix Fixe Luncheon featuring Filet Mignon topped with Truffle Poached Lobster and can be purchased at lakings.com/legends. KABC TalkRadio 790 will serve as the official media partner.
There will be a commemorative poster giveaway featuring the Legend and a post event autograph signing and meet and greet with the Legend and other members of the LA Kings Alumni Association presented by Toyota.
Granato – who played in 380 games for the Kings and recorded 305 points – is the second Kings Legend to be honored this season. Last week former head coach Barry Melrose was honored and Luc Robitaille, a member of the Hockey Hall of Fame, will be honored on March 7 prior to the Kings-Pittsburgh contest. Robitaille will also have a statue unveiled in Star Plaza at STAPLES Center that evening before the game (additional details to be announced).
The Kings will wear their Vintage Jerseys as part of these special evenings -- it will mark the only time the Kings will wear these sweaters during the 2014-15 season – and Kings fans in attendance each night will receive the commemorative poster as provided by McDonald’s.
