LA Kings Kick Off Season of Giving

The LA Kings will kick off “Season of Giving,” an initiative to serve and support the local community through fundraisers and volunteer efforts beginning tomorrow at STAPLES Center.

In addition, join the Kings during the Season of Giving as we give back to the community of Los Angeles. Fans are encouraged to take a photo wearing Kings gear while performing a charitable act and upload it to social media accompanied by #kingscare. Five people will receive two (2) free tickets to Tip-A-King, the signature fundraising event for the Kings Care Foundation which takes place on February 1.

Highlights of impending “Season of Giving” acts include:

•Annual LA Kings Toy Drive: Tomorrow (Nov. 30), Dec. 2, Dec. 7, Dec. 17

Kings players’ wives and the LA Kings Ice Crew will collect donated toys at the STAPLES Center entrances. Those who contribute will receive a raffle ticket to win signed Kings memorabilia.

The toys will be distributed to several local organizations during the holiday season, including: Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, After-School All-Stars, Eisner Pediatric & Family Medical Center, Angel City and Child Abuse Prevention Center.

•LA Kings Holiday Ornaments: Dec. 2, Dec. 7, Dec. 17, Dec. 19, Dec. 21, Dec.23

Back by popular demand – The perfect holiday gift or decoration, LA Kings Christmas Ornaments will be sold during all home games in December. Fans can purchase a signed ornament from the Kings Care Foundation booth located at Section 103 on the main concourse for $25.00.

A new player signed ornament will be featured at every game – get yours before they are gone!

•LA Kings Holiday Favorite Things Baskets: Dec. 21

Wives and girlfriends of the LA Kings players assembled baskets containing their significant others’ favorite items. • “Fit To Be King” Runners Club: Dec. 8, Dec. 15, Dec. 21, Dec.29

In partnership with the American Heart Association and hosted by Kings Radio Commentator and member of the LA Kings Alumni Association Daryl Evans, the club is designed to promote the importance of exercise and a healthy lifestyle. •Watch Party Toy Drive: Dec. 3

During the LA Kings official watch party at Hooters in Santa Monica (321 Santa Monica Blvd, Santa Monica), attendees that donate a toy will receive a raffle ticket for entry to win autographed memorabilia. For more information on the watch party, visit

•Holiday Card Writing Campaign and Toy Delivery at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles: December 9

LA Kings alumnus Sean O’Donnell and staff will participate in a holiday card writing campaign and toy delivery to the children at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. For more information on Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, visit

•Best Friends Animal Society Service Day: December 10

The LA Kings will hold an employee service day at Best Friends Animal Society. Participants will work with the staff on-site to walk dogs, socialize cats and assist with grooming. For more information of Best Friends Animal Society, visit

•Shopping Works Wonders: Bloomingdales Sherman Oaks: December 11

Between 9:00am and 9:00pm on Wednesday, December 11, Bloomingdales Sherman Oaks will donate 10% of all sales in support of the Kings Care Foundation. Additionally, for every $150.00 spent, purchasers will receive $15.00 in bMoney. For inquiries regarding the event, please contact Amanda Ellis at

•Wednesday’s Child: December 17

The LA Kings will host a Wednesday’s Child reunion skate at LA Live Ice Rink. Wednesday’s Child is a weekly news segment produced in partnership with the LA County Department of Children and Family Services and FOX featuring a child in need of a secure and permanent place to call home. •Best Friends Animal Society Blanket Drive: December 19

LA Kings personnel will collect blankets for Best Friends Animal Society at the entrances to STAPLES Center. Those who contribute will receive a raffle ticket to win signed Kings memorabilia.

Blankets will be distributed to Best Friends Animal Society, one of Los Angeles’ leading no kill animal sanctuaries. For more information on Best Friends Animal Society, visit

•Families Helping Families: December 21

LA Kings players, coaches, broadcasters and staff will “adopt” families from the Child Abuse Prevention Center for the holidays. The Families Helping Families program connects families in desperate situations facing abuse and neglect with caring members of the community to help bring stability to the home for the holidays. Families will skate at LA Kings Holiday Ice, take in the Kings/Colorado game from a winter wonderland suite and then meet the team following the game.

The Child Abuse Prevention Center is dedicated to serving at-risk children and families in crisis. Now in its 30th year of operation, the Child Abuse Prevention Center is a leading not-for-profit organization focused exclusively on the prevention of child abuse, the early intervention programs of the Prevention Center have a well-documented record of working to prevent child abuse before it occurs.

•Children’s Hospital Blood Drive: December 23

The Kings Bloodmobile will be set up outside STAPLES Center collecting blood for those in need at CHLA. Donate blood prior to the Kings contest against and Dallas Stars! More information to come.
