This past Saturday, June 29, the LA Kings presented a check to BeachLife Festival and their charitable beneficiaries in Hermosa Beach.
The partners benefiting from the Kings donation included the Surfrider Foundation, 5 Gyres, Life Rolls On, The Redondo Beach Police Department, Rob Machado Foundation and Walk with Sally.
The Kings were a proud partner of the inaugural BeachLife Festival in Redondo Beach in early May this year.
The festival included three days of legendary performances by Bob Weir, As the Crow Flies, Willie Nelson, Brian Wilson, and more, all just a few hundred feet from the ocean in beautiful Redondo Beach.
The Kings had a booth on site, with various games, autograph sessions with Jeff Carter, Marco Sturm, Jim Fox, Daryl Evans, and Bailey, and most importantly, helped raise money for local charity partners within South Bay Community.
Daryl Evans, Kings Alumnus and Radio Analyst, spoke on behalf of the Kings Care Foundation at the check presentation.
"When you look at our core values of the Kings and AEG, one of [those values] is family, and that was truly something that we felt that weekend," Evans said. "Just seeing everybody of different age groups interacting with each other, all the establishments down around the South Bay and Redondo Beach… it was just an incredible festival that was created."
"I've been a resident of Redondo beach for the last 20 years, and it was a real proud moment for me to be able to stand in the middle of that and look up and say 'wow', and just to get the interaction with people who had never been to that area before, they couldn't believe what they were being treated to," Evans said.
Mark your calendars now for next year's festival, which will take place from May 1 through 3. The Kings and the Kings Care Foundation can't wait to be a part of it and continue to support such worthy causes.
