Captain Anthony C. Posey wanted to make this Valentine's Day a memorable one for his girlfriend, Beverly Weithman.
He told her that she won tickets to the LA Kings game against the Vancouver Canucks as part of a Valentine's Day ticket program for deployed military members.
The Kings and Posey surprised her again with news that her boyfriend had set up a VIP experience for her to be the bench captain before warm-ups.
It was a wonderful gesture by the United States Army Captain, but it was all building up to his biggest surprise.

Captain Posey first enlisted in the Army National Guard in 2003 and was latter commissioned as an Army National Guard second lieutenant from Fresno State ROTC in 2008.
In 2009, he was called upon to deploy to Kosovo as a platoon leader in support of peace time operations throughout the Balkans area of responsibility.

In 2018, he again answered the call to deploy to Afghanistan with the 40th Infantry Division, where he served as a Field Artillery advisor for the Afghan National Army. His primary duties were to train, advise and assist, the Afghan National Army in the delivery of artillery fires in support of maneuver operations. His actions as an artillery advisor directly impacted Afghan National Army Soldiers to better engage the enemies of the United States in close combat. For those actions, he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal.
"She thought he was in Afghanistan," Kings analyst said during the broadcast. "He is not -- he's at STAPLES Center!"
