The LA Kings have assigned forward Nikita Scherbak to the Ontario Reign (AHL), Kings Vice President and General Manager Rob Blake announced today.
The 23-year-old Scherbak (born Dec. 30, 1995) is a 6-2, 192-pound native of Moscow, Russia who has appeared in eight games this season with the Kings, posting one point (1-0=1) and two penalty minutes.

The Kings acquired Scherbak on Dec. 2, claiming him off waivers from the Montreal Canadiens.
He played in five games earlier this season with Laval, Montreal's AHL affiliate, recording one point (1-0=1) and two penalty minutes.
The Kings travel to San Jose for a game tonight against the Sharks at 7:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast on NBCSN, the NBC Sports App and the LA Kings Audio Network on iHeartRadio.
