Kurtis MacDermid has been selected by the 32nd NHL team, the Seattle Kraken, in the expansion draft on Wednesday night.

MacDermid signed with the Kings in 2012 as an undrafted free agent and immediately made his physical presence known.

In total, MacDermid played 118 games over four seasons for the Kings and tallied 17 points (6-11=17). The 6'5" 233 Lbs. defenseman also racked up 151 penalty minutes.

Prior to the 2020-21 season, the Sauble Beach, Ontario, Canada native signed a two-year, one-way contract worth $875,000 AAV. The Kraken will now own that contract.
