LOS ANGELES/SALZBURG – The Los Angeles Kings will participate in the four-team "Red Bulls Salute 2007" exhibition tournament in Salzburg, Austria, over two days in September, the club announced today in conjunction with tournament host EC Red Bull Salzburg.
The "Red Bulls Salute 2007" will feature four teams – the Kings, EC Red Bull Salzburg (Austria; Erste Bank Eishockey Liga); F?É¬§rjestad BK (Sweden; Swedish Elite League) and HC Davos (Switzerland; Swiss National League) – and a total of four games over two days, Sept. 25 and September 26.
The tournament schedule is as follows, with all games at Eisarena Salzburg:
Tuesday, Sept. 25 – Game Day One 5:30 p.m. Game 1: EC Red Bull Salzburg vs. Kings 8:45 p.m. Game 2: F?É¬§rjestad BK vs. HC Davos
Wednesday, Sept. 26 – Game Day Two 5:30 p.m. Third Place: Loser Game 1 vs. Loser Game 2 8:45 p.m. Final: Winner Game 1 vs. Winner Game 2
The Kings will open their 2007-08 Training Camp in El Segundo in September (start date – TBA) and participate in five preseason games (full preseason schedule announced in the summer) in the U.S. before flying to Salzburg. Following the tournament in Austria, the Kings will travel to London and participate in the "NHL Premiere 2007" series.
Announced yesterday, the Kings will open the 2007-08 National Hockey League regular season at the new O2 Arena in London, England, with two games against the Anaheim Ducks on Sept. 29 and 30. AEG, the parent company of the Kings, owns and operates the O2, Europe's most state-of-the art entertainment venue.
