KINGS TO MAKE UP TO TEN PICKS

LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Kings are scheduled to make up to 10 selections – including the fourth overall selection in the first round – during the 2007 NHL Entry Draft which begins on Friday from Columbus. This year’s Draft will take place on Friday and Saturday (rounds 2 – 7), with the first round to be broadcast live on VERSUS beginning at 4 p.m. while the second round on Saturday beginning at 7 a.m.

The following details the Kings’ round-by-round selections:

  • The Kings received their second-round selection, 52nd overall, from the Dallas Stars on Feb. 27, 2007, in which the Kings also acquired a first-round selection in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, a third-round selection (see below) in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, defenseman Jaroslav Modry and the rights to defenseman Johan Fransson in exchange for defenseman Mattias Norstrom, right wing Konstantin Pushkarev, a third-round selection in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft and a fourth-round selection in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
  • * Vancouver will transfer Anaheim’s second-round selection in 2007 (previously acquired) or Vancouver’s second-round selection in 2008 to Los Angeles, at Los Angeles’ option. The Kings acquired this selection from the Vancouver Canucks on Feb. 26, 2007, in which the Kings also acquired a fourth-round draft choice in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft in exchange for defenseman Brent Sopel. *
  • The Kings received their third-round selection, 82nd overall, from the Dallas Stars on Feb. 27, 2007, in which the Kings also acquired a first-round selection in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, a second-round selection (see above) in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, defenseman Jaroslav Modry and the rights to defenseman Johan Fransson in exchange for defenseman Mattias Norstrom, right wing Konstantin Pushkarev, a third-round selection in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft and a fourth-round selection in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
  • The Kings received their fourth-round selection, 109th overall, from the Calgary Flames on Jan. 29, 2007, in which the Kings also acquired center Jamie Lundmark and a second-round selection in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft in exchange for center Craig Conroy.
  • The Kings received their fifth-round selection, 137th overall, from the Tampa Bay Lightning on Feb. 27, 2007, in exchange for forward Jason Ward.
  • The Kings received their seventh-round selection, 188th overall, from the Columbus Blue Jackets on June 24, 2006, in exchange for a seventh-round selection in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
