On Saturday, March 20, the Los Angeles Kings will host a charity firefighter event at STAPLES Center featuring the FDNY hockey team from New York versus the LACoFD hockey team. The charity game will begin after the conclusion of the Kings-New York Islanders game which begins at 7:30 p.m.
The game will be played between the LACoFD hockey team (comprised of members of the LA County Fire department and other local fire departments) and the FDNY hockey team from New York. In addition, there will be more than 500 members of the local firefighter community in attendance for both games.
A portion of ticket sales from the event as well as proceeds from that night’s silent auction will go to benefit both charities. The two teams will be playing to raise money for their respective charities. The LACoFD team will be playing on behalf of the Children’s Burn Foundation (www.childburn.org ) and FDNY will be playing on behalf of the Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation (tnbcfoundation.org). The special Kings Care Foundation silent auction features a Kings team-signed LACoFD jersey, an Islanders team-signed FDNY jersey as well as other firefighter paraphernalia.
