by Staff Writer / Los Angeles Kings
LOS ANGELES – Los Angeles Kings players Anze Kopitar, Sean O’Donnell and Patrick O’Sullivan have purchased tickets for local military members as part of the club’s “Seats for Soldiers” program which is being held in conjunction with the Kings-Phoenix Coyotes game at STAPLES Center this Saturday at 1 p.m.

As part of the newly formed Kings Community Corner presented by Valero, O’Sullivan, O’Donnell and Kopitar are purchasing tickets throughout the 2008-09 season and donating them to various groups.

Saturday’s game is the Kings’ salute to all military personnel with a portion of proceeds from tickets sold benefiting the USO. Kings fans, corporations and other supporters of the military can also purchase tickets to be donated to the Military. For all ticket information, call 1-888-KINGS-LA.

“Seats for Soldiers” is also a part of a season-long commitment by the Kings to recognize local military officials. The Kings host one military family to each Kings game at STAPLES Center to enjoy the game experience and to show their gratitude for everything the military is doing.

As the “Chevron Hero of the Game,” those honored receive a $100 gas gift card courtesy of Chevron, the family is treated to dinner in the Lexus Club and then watch as the military member is recognized on ice during the National Anthem.
