LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Kings have signed forward Brian O’Neill to a two-year contract, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.
O’Neill played in 60 regular season games this season with the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League (AHL). He recorded 47 points including 26 goals. His 26 goals ranked first on the club and his 47 points ranked third. He also enjoyed a club-best plus-31 rating.
O’Neill first joined the Monarchs during the 2011-12 season after a standout career at Yale University. O’Neill, 25, is a 5-8, 165-pound native of Yardley, Pennsylvania. He originally signed a one-year entry level contract with the Kings on March 15, 2012
The Monarchs are currently participating in the AHL playoffs. Norfolk currently leads Manchester, 2-1, in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals Series A.
